An engineering marvel by all means the pothundi dam is one of the oldest dams in india.  With the core wall made of quicklime and jaggery, this dam built across river Padipuzha and river Meenichiladipuzha is a reservoir that expands over an area of 30 square kilometres. The Pothundi dam is also the main source of irrigation for the paddy fields in all the adjacent areas.

Constructed in the 18th century this place, by all means, offers one of the most spectacular views of the Western Ghats.
